Anne Williams of WNRN's "Acoustic Sunrise" and Tina Owens of WMRA's "Acoustic Cafe" visited us last week and told us how we could get our music onto their shows. Start the video at 46 seconds (sorry about the editing glitch) to hear the very interesting full discussion at OCP.

A Warm Welcome to Spring
Hopefully this warm weather is here to stay!
The sun decided to come out, and so did everyone else at OCP :)
Mike happily prepared fresh cut fruit for lunch today.
A friendly fellow admired the remaining plants from last weekend's plant sale.
Jonathan planted some raspberries!
JMU students donated hand-decorated potted pansies (try saying that 10 times fast!).
And bikes were a fixin'.

Arts and Crafts
This morning OCP members were busy little bees making thank you notes for everyone who contributed to our Job Resource Fair. Thank you again, we couldn't have made it possible without our supporters! Check out our lovely handmade envelopes below:

A Shakespearian Wednesday
This morning our community viewed Shakespeare Behind Bars, an inspiring documentary about twenty Kentuckian inmates and their road to forgiveness and healing through the creative process of theatre.
If you'd like to know more about the film, feel free to jump over here: http://www.shakespearebehindbars.com
Our furry friend distracted me from photographing, and struck a pose behind some branches from our Palm Sunday celebration.

Healthy Soil: Composting at OCP
Sharon, Director at OCP, walked me through
the process of composting on this beautiful, sunny Monday.
There's community member, Mark, emptying
the bucket of food scraps into the pile. Thanks Mark!
Sharon showed off her impressive strength
as she turned the soil over the scraps.
Yum! Fresh composted soil needs to be
covered and protected from this on-and-off rainy season.

What A Wednesday!
Tom Weaver shared his recovery story. He said commitment and accountability made a huge difference because it allowed him to "go against the grain". Afterward, we circled up, and community members gathered to ask Tom more about the recovery process. For the second day in a row, a youth group from Indiana helped us set up lunch as well as other tasks around the center. Thanks Tom and Thanks Indianians!
Mmm homemade apple pie and chili!

Recovery Storytelling with Greigh Vandeander
Greigh Vandeander kindly shared her
recovery story with us this morning.
After struggling with addiction since the age of 11,
she has been clean for two years.
OCP's program, Our Community Farm,
played a huge role in Greigh's recovery.
Her marriage, job, and relationship with her family
are thriving more than ever!
